Arkadeep Kumar is a Research Scientist at Applied Materials Research and Development Center at Santa Clara, USA. He currently works on nano-scale manufacturing of state-of-the-art semiconductors pushing the limits of materials engineering. Prior to Applied Materials, he was an ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute)-Rosenfeld Postdoctoral Fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) and University of California Berkeley (UCB). He conducted research on advanced manufacturing and material processing to address global challenges of energy reliability and clean water security. At Berkeley Lab, his work on energy-efficient water treatment aimed to create socially impactful technology at affordable scales. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech, USA where he worked on advanced manufacturing and improved mechanical integrity of thin silicon wafers sliced by diamond wire sawing for solar cells. He completed his bachelors in Mechanical engineering from Jadavpur University, India. He has been a DAAD WISE Fellow from German Academic Exchange Service at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, and Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) Fellow at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India.
